Possibilities for the tuning of firearms

Fundamentally: It is distinguished between permanent tunings and such, that can be altered at any time. The permanent ones, for example sawing off a barrel to shorten it or the fine adjustment of a trigger done by a good gun smith, are, once done, permanently part of the weapon. Those that can be altered at any time, are tunings like special sights or scopes. Once mounted, they can be dismounted at any time. It might be advisable to leave the original stats written, too, on the combat sheet.

When there are two numbers divided by a slash at expense, the first number is the price for the materials themselves, the second number is the price one would pay an experienced gun smith to fabricate and mount that tuning.

Permanent tuning possibilities

Name of the tuning: Expense: Change
(in short words)
Trigger fine adjustment 100 - 150 $ A small increase of the hit chance
Sawn off barrel 200 - 300 $ More damage but less range for shotguns
Tapering 400 - 500 $ The weapon is turned from a rifle to a handgun
Folding Shoulder Stock 300 – 400 $ or 600 – 700 $ Weapon becomes a smaller package, easier to hide
Mounting Rails 60 $ / 150 $ A basic tuning that enables many others
Heavy barrel 500 $ / 700 $ Reduces the handicap for firing bursts and makes the weapon easier to handle lying down
It becomes harder to handle kneeling or standing, however.
Threaded barrel 700 $ Requirement for a silencer

Exchangeable tuning possibilities

Name of the tuning: Expense: Change
(in short words)
Red dot sight 200 $ / 300 $ Different type of sights, better on short ranges
But a bit worse on long ranges.
Laser sights 500 $ / 700 $ A small laser pointer, that shows where the bullet will head.
Improves the aim on short ranges especially well.
Lamp (light bulb) 100 $ / 200 $ A lamp. Makes the target easier to see, but also shows the position of the shooter.
Lamp (LED) 500 $ / 700 $ A brighter lamp. Makes the target easier to see, but also shows the position of the shooter.
Scopes 300 $ - 1500 $ / 400 $ - 2000 $ There are various magnifications on offer.
The higher the magnification, the easier it gets to aim on long range, but it also get's progressively harder to aim on short ranges.
Infrared-spotlight 600 $ / 800 $ Enables the use of an infrared scope.
Infrarot-scope 600 $ - 3000 $ / 800 $ - 4000 $ Helps to see in the dark, but needs the spotlight as well.
Silencer 400 $ / 700 $ Makes the weapon less noisy.
Cartridge pouch 15 $ / 40 $ Holds several cartridges on the weapon, to facilitate reloading.
Duck bill 25 $ / 50 $ Increases the damage dealt with buckshot.
Second pistol grip 70 $ / 100 $ Reduces the handicap when firing bursts.
Bipod 120 $ / 250 $ Facilitates shooting the weapon from a rest and can reduce the handicap on firing bursts.
Tripod 150 $ / 250 $ For especially heavy weapons. Reduces the handicap on firing bursts.
Underbarrel grenade launcher 1000 $ / 1500 $ This assault rifle receives another, attached weapon. A grenade launcher.
